The Founder and President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has asserted that the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is doing no good to his presidential ambitions by touting the number of policies he has initiated in the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.

According to him, while Dr. Bawumia is boasting about the number of policies he has championed as vice president, the economy he was touted to have fixed is in a mess.

Cudjoe, who made these remarks in a post shared on X on Monday, June 24, 2024, pointed out that even members of the NPP are questioning the impact of these policies and why he is not addressing issues on the economic challenges the country is grappling with.

He added that the vice president's remarks also made nonsense of claims that his role in the Akufo-Addo government was just advisory and therefore, he can't be blamed for the economic challenges the country is facing.

"Dr. Bawumia says he has passed the Veep exams and scored 33 policies against 0 for JM. His new nickname is now 'Bawupeezey', which an NPP youth group in London calls him.

"James Takyi, a strong NPP faithful, asked me: 'How was he able to initiate these 33 policies if he was not in charge as he says? And when is he going to address the damaged economy he was in charge of?'," the IMANI president wrote.

He added, "FC: I do not think his handlers are being helpful to him. They need to let him stop boasting about things that pale into insignificance when compared to the economy he so scholarly educated us on in opposition, which had died on his watch leaving millions of Ghanaians dirt poorer since 1957."
