The emergency regional meeting that was called at the behest of the Regional Chairman at the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi, to consider an impeachment process on Afoko and Kwabena was unanimously rejected by 43 Constituency chairmen and their executives.

The Regional Chairman, Wontumi, after a difficult session to explain why he wants such action taken, passed the decision to vote, which saw the region unanimously rejecting the 'coup attempt' in the NPP.

Lots of constituency chairmen expressed confidence in Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong in steering the affairs of the party to victory in 2016. They called on all those unseen hands manipulating the Regional Chairmen to stay off Paul and Kwabena as they have been given the mandate to manage the affairs of the party.
