Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Constituency Samuel Nartey George says the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has contradicted himself in the fight against illegal small-scale mining.
“The president is a walking oxymoron,” he describes the head of state.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo had described the fight as successful and yet said challenges still remained.
“Operation Vanguard has been largely successful even though problems still remain,” Sam George quoted the president as saying in his message on the state of the nation last Thursday.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) said this makes the president a contradiction to himself.
“How can you be successful and still there is a problem?” he wondered on TV3/3FM’s The Key Points on Saturday, February 22.
He compared the statement of the president to a student scoring 28 per cent in an examination and demanding applause for that.
