Acting National Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim, has debunked claims that the CPP is not an attractive party to the Ghanaian youth.
She stated that the party has put in more efforts to make the party attractive to the youth. Explaining why people may view the party as unattractive, she told Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben Show’, “previously, people thought we weren’t attractive to the youth because we didn’t send the youth to represent us in the media. But now we have young people speaking for us in the media”.
She cited people such as Kweku Baako, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. among others as members who are helping build the party’s image.
She added that in the past, the party put all its efforts in the presidential seat but now the party will be focused on two or three parliamentary seats where they are sure to win.
“We need to build our parliamentary base. We paid Gh?10,000 for 220 candidates. But now we will identify two or three seats and put all our efforts there”, she said.
The Convention People’s Party (CPP), is a socialist party in Ghana which was established by the first President of Ghana, Dr.Kwame Nkrumah.
