CENTRAL REGIONAL SECRETARIAT

PRESS STATEMENT

Effusions Of Central Regional Ndc Chairman

The Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Adu Yeboah , has clearly shown that indeed the NDC lacks vision, direction and the wherewithal to address the issues confronting the country.

On Wednesday, August 18, 2010 on METRO TV’s 1.00 pm news, in Mr. Adu Yeboah’s attempt to address issues raised by the NDC’s supporters in the Mfantseman East constituency where the supporters were calling for recognition, respect and assistance from the NDC, the NDC chairman fails miserably to address the issues but rather chose to launch unnecessary attack on the NPP. The call by the NDC supporters in the Mfantseman East constituency on the NDC party was a legitimate one per the NDC’s own promises to their supporters and cadres during the 2008 general elections. In dealing with these unachieved promises to the NDC supporters and cadres, Mr. Adu Yeboah said, quote, ‘because the NPP shared money to their supporters, our supporters also thought we were going to share money to them’. This statement clearly depicts a party leader who lacks vision, direction and the wherewithal to deal with issues. If this so-called regional chairman is responsible and wants to be fair with Ghanaians, then he should inform Ghanaians when, where and who in the NPP that he witnessed dolling out monies to NPP supporters for which reason he makes that loud unsubstantiated allegation against the NPP. Probably we may have to excuse him on the account that they lied their way into power and that they must continue to lie to stay in power. But fortunately, their cover is off and Ghanaians will no longer fall for this cheap bait. The Central Region NPP would wish to place on record that these are frustrated lack-luster, visionless leadership both at party and government levels who can foresee their outright rejection and consignment into the dustbin of irrelevance in the coming general election in 2012.

Was it not the NDC that promised ‘PROSPERITY FOR ALL, NOT A FEW’? And why will the NDC not have such calls from its supporters when they see that only the few at the top of the party and government are those grabbing mansions, cars and a host of properties within few months in office whilst the supporters are impoverished the more by the bad economic policies of the government? Was it the NPP that asked the NDC to make those promises to their supporters in 2008? What informed them to make those promises in 2008?

It is really laughable to hear the NDC and the government trying to place the blame at the door step of the NPP anytime their supporters make some demands premised on their 2008 campaign promises. The NDC should prove their mettle to deal with the problems that confront them as a result of the unachievable promises they made to their supporters in 2008.
