In a significant move to bolster the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) campaign efforts in the Bono Region ahead of the 2024 general election, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has made a substantial donation of 70 motorbikes to the Bono Regional Secretariat.
The donation, which took place during a strategic meeting in Sunyani on Thursday, is aimed at energising the party’s grassroots mobilisation across the region.
Mr. Dame announced that each of the 12 constituencies within the Bono Region would receive five motorbikes, while the remaining ten motorbikes would be allocated to regional executives to enhance their operations.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Dame underscored the importance of the upcoming elections and urged party executives to work diligently to secure victory.
He emphasised that the motorbikes would be instrumental in reaching remote areas, thereby strengthening the party’s outreach and campaign activities at the grassroots. “The 2024 elections are crucial, and we must equip ourselves with the necessary tools to engage with every voter in every corner of the region,” he stated.
The minister also highlighted the need for unity and collaboration among party members, stressing that the success of the campaign would depend on the collective efforts of all stakeholders.
He called on party executives to utilise the motorbikes effectively and to remain focused on the goal of winning the elections. “With dedication and hard work, we can achieve a resounding victory,” Mr. Dame added.
Receiving the motorbikes on behalf of the region, the Bono Regional Secretary, Mr. Kofi Boateng, expressed gratitude to the minister for his generous contribution.
He commended Mr. Dame for his commitment to the region’s campaign efforts and assured him that the motorbikes would be put to good use. Mr. Boateng also encouraged party officials to deploy resources strategically to maximise their impact.
Mr. Boateng further called on all party members to maintain a high level of discipline and to focus on the task at hand. He reiterated the importance of utilising motorbikes to enhance the party’s visibility and to engage with voters more effectively. “These motorbikes will play a pivotal role in our campaign, and we must ensure that they are used to their fullest potential,” he said.
