The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) is partnering with social media giants, Facebook ahead of the 2016 Presidential and Vice Presidential debates.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Executive Director of the Institute Mrs Jean Mensa.
The statement said that Facebook is donating advertising to the IEA. This will enable electorates to “send in questions to be asked at the debates, participate in events surrounding the debates, watch the debates live via Facebook and other social media platforms.”
The Institute is hopeful the collaboration with Facebook will give electorates enough opportunity to make an informed decision on who to vote for.
The IEA believes that “those who wish to govern must subject themselves to probing questions by the people to ensure that they understand the concerns of the electorate and have the capacity to address them.”
