The Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah has blamed the conduct of New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group Delta Force to joblessness.

He believes the only antidote to their grievances is for the party to ensure that there are jobs for them in order to enable them fend for their families.

“I won’t say they did not work for us….they did a lot for us during the campaigns but the manner in which they are making demands is what is very wrong. We have decided as a party to ensure that we scout for jobs for them but they also need to be patient with us”, he told Accra-based Adom Fm.

The minister however insisted that those believed to have flouted the laws but be dealt with in accordance with the laws insisting that the party will not interfere with the legal processes.

“The cause of their problems has some legal connotation so we are allowing the laws to work. Those who flouted the law must face it ………the law must be allowed to work. The police are enforcing the law but we as a party need to put things in place to get work for them to ensure that the pain they are going through is addressed”, he added.

“It is lack of patience on the part of the boys that is causing all these troubles but we will soon work towards resolving their grievances”, he emphasized.

It would be recalled that some members of the Delta Force on March 24, 2017 stormed the Ashanti regional coordinating council and forcefully demanded the removal of the regional security coordinator.

George Adjei was appointed by the President for the post but according but the groups claim they cannot work with him because he is not from the region.

They broke into Adjei’s office manhandled him and asked him to leave the premises.
