Ledzokuku NDC Elders Destroying Party Over Sour Grapes

Fri, 17 Feb 2012 Source: The Informer

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch at the Ledzokuku Constituency, in the Teshie Traditional Area might be shooting itself in the foot.

The party may dent or totally lose the goodwill accorded it by the constituents; and might be placing itself on the wrong path of losing the December 7, 2012 Parliamentary seat to the lucky party in the area.

This has been evidenced, when right after the Saturday, January 28, 2012 local primary, won by Mrs. Benita Sena Okity-Dua, the party elders in the constituency, instead of looking up to the party colours and symbol rather grudgingly constituting themselves into local mafia, in strenuous attempt to ditch the local campaign process, in order to prove a point, at the end.

The Informer is sad to note that, all the so-called News Conferences purporting to be coming from the Teshie Traditional Council (TTC), were rather evil machinations being hatched by the selfsame local party gurus, who benefited and continue to benefit from the magnanimity of the same local NDC delegates who thought it wise to replace the incumbent Member of Parliament, for the sake of party cohesion and victory.

Some of these local party greats go to the extreme of dishing out money in envelops to some elders and likeminded youth to dispense at high pitch, and cause some newspapers to publish that, the Teshie Traditional Council was against the elect-NDC Parliamentary Candidate, one; because she is not indigene, and two, she is a woman; and that he TTC ‘says’ by tradition, a non-indigene and a woman can not rule over the traditional area: and allegation, the Teshie Traditional Council vehemently denies.

The Informer, would therefore, called on the Regional and National Executive Councils of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to call their leading members in the Ledzokuku Constituency to order, by giving them wisdom of political growth and maturity, so not to rock the boat that sails them along the rest.

For the most political absurdity, that could even throw the NDC Headquarters and the Osu Castle into a stupor, are fervent attempts underfoot by the so-called four local party greats, to secretly scouting for, and to pitch an independent parliamentary candidate, who they think they could support, morally and financially, to ditch the electoral fortunes of the credible candidate, credibly elected at the 28th January, 2012 primaries of the highest constituency decision-making ‘congress’.

Although, this newspaper would soon bring onto table, the names of those NDC gurus cited, on verification of events, it won’t be a misplaced effort, for the party hierarchies to drum it into the ears of those Ledzokuku Constituency NDC leaders, who, by one reason or the other, believe their egos are bigger than the party’s interest in the coming general elections.

For; a stitch in time, the wise say, saves nine!
