The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is urged to work extra hard to win the hearts and minds of Ghanaians through grassroots party activities, propagating the party's policies and agenda for change in Ghana, aimed at alleviating the economic hardships faced by many under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

According to its former chairman, it's important to remember that winning power as an opposition requires diligent effort, especially when the current government has failed to address the needs of Ghanaians. Complacency is not an option; unity is essential.

Moving forward, the party aims to engage with grassroots communities through door-to-door campaigns across the country, with the goal of securing victory and bringing trusted and visionary leader John Dramani Mahama back into power to lead Ghana's development.

Former National Democratic Congress chairman Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo made these remarks on the Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM, hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu in Accra.

He highlighted the loss of faith among the middle working class due to the government's handling of issues such as the banking sector restructuring, which resulted in thousands losing their jobs. The NDC pledges to introduce policies aimed at creating employment opportunities for the youth, addressing a pressing security concern.

Regarding the cocoa sector, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo emphasized its importance to the Ghanaian economy and expressed concerns over its mismanagement. He stressed the need for the NDC to engage with cocoa farmers and restore the sector's capacity to produce quality beans for the global market, ensuring farmers' well-being.

Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo criticized the NPP's agriculture policies, citing a lack of tangible results since 2017 despite significant investments. He warned of potential food shortages due to high agricultural produce prices and urged the NDC to address these issues effectively.

He called on the NDC to approach the 2024 December polls with determination, likening the party's members to soldiers entering battle. Unity and teamwork are vital to ensure a credible electoral register and prevent any attempts to suppress votes by the government or the NPP.

Additionally, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo stressed the importance of vigilance during electoral commission activities, especially the mop-up voter registration exercise, to safeguard against any potential electoral fraud.

Overall, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo's message underscores the NDC's commitment to addressing the needs of Ghanaians and restoring trust in governance through diligent grassroots efforts and strategic policy initiatives.
