Prez Mahama Dispatches His Men To Rebel Against Men Of God - Sir John

The general secretary of the NPP, lawyer Kwadwo Afriyie popularly known as Sir John, has stated that though he has no ill feeling against the president meeting various church leaders at the Castle, he believes the president and NDC were “praising God with their lips but had their hearts far away from Him”.

He likened the meeting to a “public show” which was organized to deceive the public that the sitting president is a God loving person. He explicitly stated that it was hypocritical on the part of the president to make worshiping God an open thing when it has to do with the heart.

The NPP scribe indicated that if President Mahama truly believes in God, he wouldn’t unleash his appointees to descend heavily on preachers anytime they shared a different opinion.

“At certain times, people want to be hypocritical...at times some people want to say that President Mahama is a Christian because he has invited church leaders to come and worship with him. But your Christ like attitude should be displayed in everything you do.

“You don’t send Aseidu Nketia to go out insulting the Presbyterian Church leaders and when they are brought before book, they tell you that they have “stopped attending church, take your church, NDC members should stop paying offertory and rebel against their pastors".

“If Otabil crosses their path, they insult him and cut him to size...Tony Aidoo also pops up along the way telling pastors and tongue speaking Christians that they are collectively mad people”, Mr. Kwadjo Afriyie highlighted on Okay FM.

He maintained that it is expected of President Mahama to call his men to order if he wants others to share in his believe that he fears God and not necessarily meeting with men of God.

President John Dramani Mahama on 21st November, 2012, called on all Christians in the country to fast and pray towards the upcoming elections.

Speaking at the event which was held at the Osu Castle and dubbed ‘Breakfast Devotion’, President Mahama said even though the country has gone through the elections for five times already, there is the need to still seek the face of God for the upcoming one.

The event saw the likes of Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah of the Royal House Chapel, Prophet Christopher Annor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC-Holy Ghost Temple), Archbishop Duncan Williams of Action Chapel and many more present at the function.

He therefore fixed December 2 as a day of fasting and prayers by all Christians for peace and tranquility to prevail in the 2012 election.

He has also scheduled the Friday before the elections, as a day for all Muslims nationwide to pray for peaceful elections.
