Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori have expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for their support in the heavy win over Ethiopia. The Wa All Stars custodian credited the teaming fans for their landslide win in the opening round of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.
The Black Stars shot stopper heaped kind words on the supporting base of the national team as they got off to a perfect start. Speaking to Sports Crusader on the impact of the fan base on their home win, the Wa All Stars shot stopper could not hide his joy at the massive turnout of the supporters at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“The turnout at the Stadium was massive and I think I must acknowledge the contribution of the fans towards the win.
“The presence of the fans turned us on and charged the atmosphere for us all. Aside the technical team and the playing body, the major role played by the fans was massive and I hope it continues” , Richard Ofori told Sports Crusader.
The Wa All Stars goalie earned his first ever clean sheet with the national team in a 5-0 win over Ethiopia. Goals from Asamoah Gyan, Ebenezer Assifuah, John Boye and Raphael Dwamena eased Kwesi Appiah’s men into the heavy win.
