The flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has revealed that Samia Yaba Nkrumah is yet to call after his victory in Saturday’s presidential primary.

Samia, the daughter of Ghana’s first president was widely tipped by many political analysts to win the primaries but she was shocked by Greenstreet who emerged victorious with more than 60 percent of votes cast.

The former General Secretary of the Nkrumahist party polled 1,288 votes representing 64.21% as against Samia’s 579 votes. The other candidates Joseph Agyapong and Bright Akwetey had 83 and 42 votes respectively.

Following his victory, Samia accused Greenstreet of vote-buying, saying most of the delegates were bribed with 200 and 500 Ghana cedis.

Greenstreet has dismissed the allegations describing them as malicious and untrue.

Speaking on Starr Chat Wednesday with host Bola Ray, Greenstreet said he is looking forward to settling issues with Samia so the CPP can focus on winning the November polls.

“She hasn’t called me but we had a very good working relationship…I like her very much and we enjoyed each other’s company on regular basis, but she hasn’t called me.

“Certainly I will make contact with her, am seeing the leadership of the party this Friday and I know that as time goes on we will be able to overcome these initial difficulties from time to time,” Mr. Greenstreet said.
