The suspended National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Awentime Afoko, is to make Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s campaign team for the 2016 electioneering operation.
Afoko’s inclusion was confirmed after Tuesday’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting that had the party’s 2016 Presidential Candidate and his running mate, Nana Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in attendance.
Many had expected Mr. Afoko to be dropped from the list submitted to the party elders for consideration and selection following his indefinite suspension.
But inside sources say his inclusion was fairly debated at Tuesday’s meeting with some suggesting he should be given the chance.
Also featuring on Nana Addo’s campaign team are the party’s National and Youth Organisers, John Boadu and Sammy Awuku, among a host of others.
Former National Chairman of the elephant family, Peter Mac Manu, is to head the team after emerging favorite among a host of others submitted to the party’s elders for consideration and selection.
Nana Addo is expected to publicly announce the team in three weeks time.
