The leader of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC) worldwide, Reverend Kwaku Agyei Antwi, popularly known as Rev. Obofour, was among the pastors who met the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, on October 1, 2024, to fellowship with him at East Legon.

After the prayer session with Mahama, Obofour posed three questions to him, seeking answers on his perspectives.

According to Obofour, Mahama should channel his discussion on cement prices, iron rods, and other building materials, questioning him on what he intends to do about the surge in prices should he win power.

“Everyone's dream is to build, but we haven’t heard anything about cement during campaigns, so please talk about it and iron rods,” he said.

Obofour also asked Mahama how he intended to stabilize the Ghanaian cedi.

“Now the dollar is speaking a different language, the value difference. Please, what will you do about it when you win power?” Obofour asked.

He also questioned Mahama on the hikes in public transport fares.

“Before, people could buy porridge with the coins left after boarding trotro, but now trotro fares are expensive. What will you do about it?”

He then urged Mahama to maintain his communication with the clergy if elected president.

“When God helps you, you have met the clergy now… when you get the power, you should call us again, so we can say our minds on the economy,” Rev. Obofour stressed.

The event was organized to provide an opportunity for the former president to engage with leaders of the Christian faith and share his vision for the country ahead of the December 7 elections. It also served as a time of worship, prayer, and fellowship in the presence of God.

Among the other pastors present were Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, founder and leader of Royal House Chapel International; Rev. Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church among others.
