Needless to say, the situation in which our ceountry Ghana finds itself in, with the present Govt, is one of total despair and no hope. Looking at the ultra-shabby performance of the current govt and worse-still the lack of appropriate reaction of the suffering population, one is shamed to eat humble pie.
Not only has the current govt and the general population made it seem justifiable that we are indeed a shit-hole country but it has also made it evident that our mental faculties have not progressed beyond what it was like that made us succumb to slavery 400 years ago. Sadly, this shameful phenomenon is even more visible amongst the highest educated Ghanaians.
Since when have Ghanaians in authority bothered about vehicle emissions?? If they are doing so, it is probably only because some locally resident foreign NGOs are pushing the govt to make noise about the issue so that they can impress their foreign sponsors to keep on financing their luxurious NGO lifestyles.
Otherwise why would a govt that is not even concerned about the lack of beds in our biggest hospitals and the fact that the cumulative effects of poverty is the biggest killer of Ghanaians?

The government should ban the importation of of all the thrown away vechles ( scarp car) that have fled emission test in other foreign countries as well all so-called home use electrical equipment and gadgets that are imported nd sold in in the country. These are some of the major causes and sources of some of the greenhouse gas emissions. The government should also undertake massive education to create awareness and explain the rationale for the introduction of the emission tax. The lazy approach of introducing tax policies without the proper public awareness and understanding of such new policies will always lead to backlash and protest. The government needs adptive mnsge under these tough times
