Even if you speak your mind that wouldn't implement your mind, it would rather amount to insubordination. In a democracy, you don't become so much attached to your views no matter how right you are. That's why sometimes you know the majority are wrong, you go along and try your best to manage the damage because staying behind will worsen the damage. For those who are saying Bawumia should have quit, the solution to problems is not to quit but to stay and fight for your turn when you have the authority to do the right things like he will get when elected as president. Sometimes people think they are speaking their mind, but rather engage in insubordination. Every office has regulations, and you can't go about with 'verbal diarrhea' in the name of speaking your mind. You can't go about revealing information entrusted onto you in the name of speaking your mind. So, you don't expect Bawumia take to the media about things he may not agree in government, at the same time he is required to play his part in the team. If you can't work with a team because your views are not taken, you're not born a subordinate. And if you can't be a subordinate it will be hard to lead. Because sometimes you need to understand the feelings of your followers to lead; an experience which you can only gain by being a subordinate at some point in your life. A leader who can't be a subordinate is likely going to be a dictator. A word of wisdom to those who understands wisdom.

"Being a driver's mate" means Dr. Bawumia comprehends leadership. Speaking your mind does not make you the leader, because all members of the team are at the beck and call of the leader.
Let's touch on Frederick Winslow Tailor's Principles of Scientific Management: Unity of Command first.
This translates into one person given instructions to the team members. The essence of it being that there will be no confusion.
Compare this to a situation where many people are giving instructions (leading simultaneously) to other team members. Nothing but a state of confusion.
Tailor was of the opinion that ALL authority was vested in the leader. From this principle, we can also deduce that it is the leader's responsibility to perform ALL tasks.
Since we know that it is highly impossible for the leader to it all, he delegates a sizable amount of the authority to others to help him achieve his objective(s).
The cogent reason all praises and condemnations accrue to the leader.
Consequently, the leader after delegating authority to perform a function, must not behave like the proverbial ostrich and bury their head in the sand and refuse to watch the appointees/helpers.
He becomes the control aspect of the principles of management by watching over his appointees to ensure that there are no square pegs in round holes who will earn him condemnation.
Or there are no "chop, chop" appointees/helpers.
A good leader should be able to ascertain which helper is suited for what task and make changes or replace those who are not up to the task.
The Unity of Purpose. The leader becomes the touch bearer and steers the group towards the ultimate goal.
These are the bare facts-nothing about NPP or NDC or CPP.
So please stop blaming vice presidents and cabinet ministers for errors in government. They are just helping the leader/president.
A good leader will not sleep while his helpers are underperforming and bringing condemnation to them.
