Victor Owusu, the father of Ursula Owusu, and the presidential candidate of the UP, now NPP in 1979, described Voltarians as INWARD LOOKING PEOPLE. That is also one of the major reasons why Voltarians don't vote for NPP. Even today, some of their supporters like Dade, Asuo, Pelicles, Read I 2 die, Mary Ho public toilet, Stephen Donkor, Maame Abena and the like who are part of the Flag Staff House greyhounds and vultures and jackals and squirrels still describe Voltarians in very condescending ways like Trokosi and Ayigbeni vermin and other unprintable words. The NPPs disrespect for Voltarians is at the core of their dislike by people from the region.

Frankie, read to understand, don't read to reply. The historian himself has confirmed that his people are inward looking. He said people in the Volta region want someone the can call THEIR OWN. This is irrespective what others can do. With this mentality, region can lack behind in development because the NDC would assume whether they develop the region or not their votes are assured. Other parties would also assume that no matter what they do for the region they would never change their minds and therefore neglect the region. Assuming all Ghanaians have that mentality, Ghana would be ruled by only one ethnic group or region.

Do the educational purposes occur in election years only?

Before the coming of Rawlings, the Area and Region 1979, voted for PNP's Dr Hilla Liman, a Sisala from the Upper Region, and to a lesser extent, UNC's William Ofori Atta, an Akyem from Eastern Region,as against PFP's Victor Owusu from Kwabre Ashanti.

In 1969, Parliamentary System, the Area and Region voted for the National Alliance of Liberals , the only vestige of the CPP in the election, as against the Progress Party, led by Dr Kofi Abrefa Busia
Komla Agbeli Gbedemah, an Ewe and leader of the CPP when Nkrumah was in prison, was the leader of NAL. He won his Keta seat, but was later disqualified from Parliament under Article 71.

After the disqualification of Gbedemah, Parliamentary leadership of NAL did not go to Fred Segbefia his Deputy, but to Erasmus Ransford Tawiah Madjitey of Manya Krobo.

In the 1979 elections, Madjitey joined the Victor Owusu led PFP and contested the same Parliamentary seat and lost.

In the Presidential run off, between Dr Hilla Liman and Victor Owusu, Gbedemah teamed up with Victor Owusu and led Victor Owusu to present Eight cows (bulls) to the Volta Region House of Chiefs in apology for his utterance against the Ewes.

The House of Chiefs asked Victor Owusu to go with the cows and bring them back after the Elections.
Victor Owusu lost the election in the Volta as well as the Nation.
He did not represent the cows.
In the PFP Presidential delegates conference, it was the vote of the Volta delegate that broke the tie and gave Victor Owusu the Presidential ticket over JH Mensah.

Torgbui look at the ownership and leadership of the party now and you will see NDC does not belong to Voltarians anymore. Maybe that is why NDC is losing its world bank to NPP which is a father for all party.

It is on record that the whole of the Volta Region was left out of NPP's 2021 budget.
