Even this so called speaking sense is hollow. Who benefits from cashew production? How many Ghanaians eat cashew products? Check local purchasing price of one kilogram of unprocessed cashew nuts and a handful of roasted cashew nuts, only salt added, overseas and one would realize how much our farmers are being fleeced. Cashew nuts buyers dictate how much they would pay for a kilo of the product. No bargaining!
Tall trees are cut down to give way to the dwarf cashew trees. This is affecting the ecology. Leaching is caused where cashew is farmed. Should there be major bushfires, desert conditions won't wait to be called in!
Cashew farming is one cause of famine and the importation of tomatoes, onions, for example, in Ghana now as the traditional food production have been abandoned and everyone is chasing the little food on the market.
NAPO should valuate points before coming out with his political (dreamed) solution
