Just be reasonable. Most Ghanaians speak and understand Twi. When I worked at Tamale in 1989, almost every person at the main market and shops spoke and understood Twi. In Accra, almost all the Ga people understand and speak Twi. I am a Southerner but speak Hausa and Dagbani very fluently. Yes, and I speak Ga Guan , Asante and Akyem Twi. I also can speak and write the Fante language too..
It is excellent that the Minister designate can speak Twi because most of the people who he may have to deal with may not be that fluent in English but rather in Twi. I can’t speak Anlo Ewe but know enough to know if I am insulted in the Anlo Ewe language. Yes, and Rawlings spoke and understood Ga than Anlo Ewe language, though he he was Scottish and Anlo Ewe.
