The NDC is a disgrace to our democracy. Having realized the danger of political vigilantes, the previous government took steps to disband them. If they didn't the chaos that happened in 2024 elections would have still happened but the NPP would have retained power. But for the sake of peace they disbanded party vigilantes. The NDC took advantage of that and we all saw how they use hoodlums to intimidate the election process. And I thought after winning power they would repent but they were still out there burning state properties even after Bawumia had conceded defeat. With an overwhelming majority in parliament, why would the NDC resort to the kind of unprovoked violence we witnessed in Ablekuma North? Are they just people who don't want peace? If they fail to disband their thugs as NPP did what do we think will be the fate of our democracy going forward if the two major political parties engage in a full Showdown? How can a simple process of electing an MP be a ground for violence? And some people are supporting that with funny justification which they themselves committed many times. Are we not ashamed as a country?

This vigilantesm or political hooliganism started with NDC in 1992 with one Sofoh Azorka as head/chief of the NDC vigilantes. They brutalized, intimidated and killed NPP members. The media then was silent for whatever reason is best known to them.
Fast forward, before 2016 elections, NPP also formed theirs to counter the NDC. Whatever goes round, surely comes around. And NPP should never forget this Ablekuma North by election.
