I have known Baafi when he was a young boy. He has lived opulently in Canada where he went to school, and also in Atlanta where he worked for a while. He, unlike Asiedu Nketsia did not enter into Politics because he was broke and sang praises to Efo Jerry John Rawlings because he wanted a place in Politics. Baafi had his own houses in Canada, Atlanta, Accra, and Koforidua Adweso before he entered into Politics in Ghana. He has nothing to lose if he quits Politics. His brother who happens to be established in the USA was my student and used to visit me and my family regularly. I very much know him very well from his adolescence. He even did not need to be in Ghanaian Politics for another goon and a bastard and his goons and cohorts to kill him for trivial and tribal reasons as one foolish and idiotic, disgusting and disappointed Soldier did in Ghana in the not too distant past. He has not been a failure in life.

Vote buying is one thing that is gradually destroying our democracy. The well-to-do but politically unqualified are buying their way into the political space. This is being done with so much effrontery that it has become the order of the day.
If only we will choose qualified candidates and present them at elections, there will no need to grease the palms of people. The political space has been hijacked by people with no sense of decency, they tell lies just to smear political opponents, make very wild allegations( the NPP party folks alleged they’re given 100 and 200, yet an NPP MP is alleging 500-1,000), the caliber of people we present is also a factor.
The political space must be cleansed of persons whose character is questionable. They do the very things they complain about then take the least opportunity to paint others black.
If our democracy will grow, we need to push for people like Baafi, Assafuah, and their likes to be shown the exit door. They can’t be spewing lies and pretend it’s mere propaganda. The system must begin to work, the Ghanaian people must begin to act as the real owners of power.
