The NDC has a four-year social contract with the people and that is what your polls should focus on - good governance, economy, safety and security, health, education etc, and not on who the next likely candidate could be. What you're doing is unnecessary at this time. You're risk being a nuisance if you continue along this tangent.

Unfortunately, the ones in leadership positions in the NDC Party who should manage, exert discipline and hold the Party together from this external threat are either involved in this mischief or seem to have been compromised into inertia by the same errant members. As it is, the leadership of the Party has "crashed" and every member down the line is on his own.

It is so strange to observe that in only 9 months after winning elections, leading members of the Party and some in govt, should begin to market themselves for the highest positions in govt and in the Party in the next elections in 3 years. This alone exposes all such people as being unfit to hold senior positions in the Party - much more, positions in govt. Not only that. It will also render the Party, dysfunctional and comatose.

Looking at the quality of appointees made for various ranks and positions in govt - particularly those for our foreign missions, I was extremely disappointed at the appointment of several heads of missions to vital countries of importance during these critical times of global political transformation. The whole thing seemed like a re-enactment of the previous govts "family and friends" appointments to state agencies and diplomatic missions. It is for this specific reason that the Party should be serious in scouting for, poaching - if necessary, and training high quality politically oriented cadres across board to take over from the many current opportunists and shabby quality of appointees in only 3 years when this crop would have disappointed everyone and inevitably brought both the govt and the Party to shame. One does not need to be a rocket scientist to see this coming.

Even though the NPP, admittedly, does not have a dog's chance of rising from the ashes of their complete obliteration in the last elections, the NDC on the other hand, have not yet woken up from the hallucinogenic joy of their emphatic victory in the last elections. It must however be boldly said that, that victory was not so much won on the basis of endearing the electorate with better policies as it was won on the basis of a general mood of complete disenchantment with the miserably incompetent previous govt.

All in all, the two major parties (or is it only one now) do not seem to have woken up to realities on the ground that the Ghanaian electorate are so fed up - in fact, so sick and tired of the lies, disappointments, lack of visible development and dishonesty of politicians that they would more likely not vote at all or not vote for an incumbent govt that exhibits such symptoms and tendencies - even at the risk of giving chance to a lesser considered adversary, the advantage to replace the incumbent.

The NDC being the incumbent party in power now, is obliged to show more seriousness as a strong dependable organization that is sensitive to the fire needs of the long-suffering electorate if they would not wish to be replaced in govt by the CPP or the PNC in the next elections in three years.

Some of the politicians in Ghana think that dancing with the stars on camera will make people vote for them. In most cases reasonable people are turned off by this behavior.

Nana Addo tried pushing Bawumia down our throats and it failed and so will Mahama fail with his own 'agyapadie' agenda of Julius Debrah.
