NPP has initiated a process to expel Professor Frimpong-Boateng (L) from the party
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has confirmed that the party is taking formal steps to expel Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng after he allegedly made statements that undermine the party.
Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV on Thursday, January 15, 2026, he stated, “Well, the New Patriotic Party is governed by rules. It’s a party governed by laws. And, therefore, when a person makes a statement which constitutes misconduct, the party has to follow due process. And that is what we have done as a party.”

He revealed that Prof Frimpong-Boateng has yet to submit a resignation letter to the party.
“Ideally, I would have expected him to submit a letter of resignation to the party by now. But he has not done that. As a party, we must follow due process. This involves referring the matter to Article 444 of our constitution, under which the National Executive Committee has the authority to expel him from the party. That process has now been initiated,” he added.
