Kennedy Agyapong, Former MP for Assin Central
The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso and a member of Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, Dr Stephen Amoah, has disclosed that the former Assin Central MP is not interested in leading the Base Movement, a new political force.
According to Dr Amoah, popularly known as “Sticka,” he personally asked Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential hopeful, about the movement and his response was that he had no interest in it.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM, excerpts of which have been shared on social media, Sticka cautioned that breaking away from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would be a wrong move.
“I will advise everyone that we are done with the elections, so we should come together and sacrifice for the NPP. So, the Base and all those things, we should stop and work together as NPP people, because for me, there is nothing that I would not sacrifice for the NPP,” he said.
“I have personally asked Kennedy Agyapong about ‘The Base’ and he has said he is not interested,” he added.
He further explained that all members of the NPP should remain cautious, stay united and remain in the party rather than depart.
