Ameyaw-Chiremeh (R) ill lead the team with the like of Palgrave (L) and Adwoa Safo (2nd L)
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially unveiled a high-powered national campaign team for his bid to become National Chairman of the party ahead of the its pending internal elections.
The announcement, made in a statement dated May 13, 2026, follows what the camp described as extensive nationwide consultations that have positioned the Ashanti Regional Chairman as a major contender in the race.
The campaign team is being led by former Sunyani East MP and former Majority Chief Whip, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, who will serve as Campaign Chairman, while former New Edubiase MP and former Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, George Boahen Oduro, takes up the role of Campaign Manager.
Other notable figures named on the team include Sarah Adwoa Safo, Stephen Amoah, George Mireku Duker, Akua Afriyie, and former Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan.
The team also features Dr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, who has been assigned to the campaign’s spokespersons and communications structure.
His inclusion is expected to strengthen the campaign’s media visibility and strategic messaging, given his previous role as Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.
According to the statement signed by campaign spokesperson David Boakye, the composition of the team reflects “unity, inclusiveness, and growing grassroots confidence” in Chairman Wontumi’s vision for the party.
Chairman Wontumi also pledged to run what he described as a disciplined and issue-driven campaign focused on party unity, grassroots mobilisation, organisational strengthening, and positioning the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.
