  In the NPP’s 8 years between 2017 and 2024, approximately 2000 galamsey mining licenses were granted in Ghana. People like Wontumi, party members, friends and family were allowed to mine in forest reserves !!!!!!! with their excavators and changfans in collusion with Chiefs, Chinese workers and galamsey kingpins.
  
  This is why Ghana’s environment has been destroyed with massive deforestation, our land and rivers polluted and poisoned with mercury and other toxic metals. This is why so many more Ghanaians are in hospital with kidney disease and the need for dialysis. This is why children are being born with deformities. This is why Ghana may soon be importing drinking water. This could jeopardise our foodstuffs, our cocoa exports and introduce fear and insecurity into the minds of our citizens.
  
  We pray that the curse of galamsey and greed will leave Ghana and that both NDC and NPP and those within the current administration should be firmly held accountable.
