Nkrumah maintained the status quo because he alligned himself with communists and had no intentions of stepping down. JJ Rawlings had the chance of being a dictator like Idi Amin. It took him a while but he chose the path of democracy. This is the tale of two leaders. One chose dictatorship the other chose democracy. A PRESIDENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT DID, AND DID NOT GET DONE UNDER HIS LEADERSHIP.
