Isn't it only fair and proper for amendment to be made to the details that were challenged by civil society before passing it again?
I think the new bill is perfect. How should a journalist or lawyer who dealt with a person suspected to be gay be punished alongside the suspect?
I think the NDC did a good job by passing this revised edition. We now await the signature of the President.

After listening to Afenyo Markins, I now understand the frustrations of the minority. Majority of Ghanaians blamed Akuffo Addo for refusing to sign the bill into law, and subsequently labeled him as anti morality president who was in bed with the gays and lesbians and their sponsors.
At that time, the minority and Akuffo Addo lamented that the bill was too harsh and it would lead to a lot of lawsuits against the state especially from lawyers and doctors who would offer legal and medical services to LGBTQ offenders and patients respectively. But the NDC, knowing that the law was seemingly unpopular, opposed the majority (now minority) at that time.
So now, the minority also wants the same bill to be passed and see if President Mahama will sign it. Why will Mahama hurry to sign the bill this time, but declined to sign it previously and stated that it was not a priority ? That is a sign of double standard indeed.
But it’s good that the bad part of it has been deleted. The worst part is the refusal of the majority to acknowledge that the previous bill was too harsh so Akuffo Addo was right in dragging his feet to sign it.
