Nana Nkansah Buadu, the Chief of Agric Nzema in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has opposed any possible re-election in the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency following the cancellation of New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executive elections in three constituencies in the Ashanti Region.
According to the chief, who is also the Chairman of the Council of Elders for the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency and a member of the Ashanti Region NPP Council of Elders, the election was conducted in accordance with due legal processes without any breach.
He, therefore, questioned the basis for any possible re-election, insisting that there was no justification for annulling the earlier results.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Nana Nkansah Buadu accused some NPP leaders of having an interest in the constituencies where the party has annulled the executive elections.
He warned that there would not be any fresh election in the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency, despite the party’s decision to cancel the earlier results.
The chief further cautioned the NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, against challenging him, stating that he would publicly expose.
“This morning, if they dare me, what I will do to them, they will be sorry,” he said.
Nana Nkansah Buadu added that he had made efforts to ensure the safety of all participants during the election, accusing the NPP General Secretary of failing to check on the welfare of party members before cancelling the election.
“I think about people, so I have checked up on everybody to make sure no one was hurt during the election. But for Kodua, ask if he has even checked up on anybody to see if someone was injured or not. All he knows is to write that he has cancelled the election,” he stated.
He challenged the NPP leadership to return to the constituency and conduct a fresh election if they believed the earlier process was flawed.

“If he is a man, he should come and conduct the election. Anyone who is a man should come and vote here. As I speak to you, come and see the demonstration in the town. Who will vote here?” he said.
He further reiterated his challenge, saying, “If anyone is a man, he should come and vote here and see.”
