This very horrible and wasteful practice was very common in most SOEs during the nana addo regime. I used to work for one these SOEs some years back. The CEO whose name I don't want to mention employed his own driver although there were many drivers with the company, employed his own personal assistant who was his niece, employed a military body guard not even a police bodyguard and there was this pastor from one of the very popular charismatic churches in ghana who always prayed at church events after which he received very fat envelopes. I don't want to mention the company or the name of the CEO but luckily for me, I left in 2024 but as I speak the company has been properly ran down. That is why we must as a country we must take a second look at how politicians especially MPs are appointed unto the boards of our SOEs. Such boards are toothless. When the IMF queries the government about this then the politicians get angry.
