Shamima Muslim (R) clashed with Musah-Saaka (L) during a discussion on the teachers’ union strike
Lawuratu Musah-Saaka, a member of the communications team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has clashed with Shamima Muslim, a Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, on live TV.
This is not the first time the two women have engaged in a heated argument on live TV.
In August 2025, the two were at each other’s throats over the prices of goods and services in the country during a panel discussion on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana.
The two women clashed again on the same programme on September 29, 2026, during a panel discussion on the ongoing strike by teacher unions.
Musah-Saaka accused the deputy spokesperson of going back on some pronouncement she made while in opposition.
She claimed that Shamima Muslim had said that the previous NPP government “should stick to what they promised in their manifesto and fulfil it, or give answers to why… they haven't done the same” in a news article.
Before the NPP communicator could end her sentence, Shamima Muslim interjected, “She just lied ooo.”
The claim did not sit well with Musah-Saaka, who also accused Shamima Muslim of being a liar.
“I don't lie… it takes one to know one,” she fumed.
The presidential staffer challenged the NPP communicator to produce the article she was making reference to, saying, “I dare Laura to pull out the so-called July publication that she quotes directly.”
'Jandam Communicator' – Shamima Muslim clashes with Musah-Saaka over real prices of commodities
Musah-Saaka, after accusing Shamima and her party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), of lying their way to power, accepted the challenge to produce the article she was referring to.
The headline of the story, which she showed to the cameras, reads, “Stop the comparism. Tell us what you have done - Shamima Muslim to NPP”.
As the NPP communicator tried to read the article further, the presidential staffer said that the headline read was different from the claim Musah-Saaka had made earlier.
She insisted that she never made a comparison of the performance of the NDC and the NPP as the headline suggests.
“This morning, because of the nature of the issues on the table, I will restrain myself not to enter the fray that Lawuratu invites us to enter. The indiscipline you want to initiate so that I would respond in equal manner, I will not,” she said.
Muslim’s comments further infuriated Musah-Saaka, who accused the presidential staffer of personalising the discussion.
The two women continued to heckle each other as the heated debate continued.
