Many of us also had first classes and went to Ivy Leagues. We don't go about making half the noise being made about Tsatsu. Constantly citing his first classes is simply ridiculous. Perhaps, those days when there were only few first classes and Ivy League-trained Ghanaians, this would look impressive. Today, it doesn't. The man should let his professional achievements speak for him.

Tsatsu's problems:

Facts: he does not have any facts. His client (NDC) has not been accused of anything. Only the EC can address the issues raised by the petitioners. NDC cannot expain why there are Overvotes, GROPAAvotes, under-the-table votes, etc.

Witness: he faces a witness who has studied the issues more than he has. Bawumia also appears smarter, younger and sharper. Tsatsu is right in describing Bawumia as Dr. Pink Sheet.

Experience: he is not a trial lawyer and does not understand election law. Further, He has been away from the teaching of law for decades.

Preparation: he lacks preparation. In too many instances, he is being coached by Lithur as to how to ask questions and even tender evidence.

Purpose: his cross examination is purposeless. Evidence of that is taking over 5 days. Lawyers who know what they want, go in ask those questions very quickly and are done. This is Ghana but nowhere else will a Judge give you 5 days for one witness, when the average trial last 5 days.

Assumptions: his assumptions about cross examinations are almost at the layman's level. Every trial lawyer knows that not every mistake by a witness is probative. But he is spending days pointing out exhibits that have been mislabelled after Lithur had spent days on the same issue. In most jurisdictions, the Judge would have said, let us relabel the exhibits and move on. But here we are on the 9th day of talking about labelling, which has nothing to do with the issues.

Etiquette: in cross examination, you only ask questions that you know or can predict the answers. You get rid of good witnesses as quickly as possible. You quit as soon as you have made your key points. Tsatsu does not know these basics or he has forgotten them. He has asked too many questions that has allowed Bawumia to score easy goals. He has not recognized that Bawumia is smarter than he is, which has allowed Tsatsu's emptiness to be exposed for 5 days. And he cannot quit because he has not scored any goals (see expectations).

Expectations: he is laboring from unreasonable expectations. Of course, in Ghana we create too many luminaries and expect magic from them. Then the luminary puts himself under pressure to meet the unrealistic expectation. Tsatsu is stressed, his questions are laughable, the got you moment that he wants for his fanatics will not come and he continues to look for it. He continues to look for that elusive goal.

Personally, I am yet to be convinced by Tsatsu, even though I admit that coming third behind Lithur and Quashie-Idun may have taken the wind out of his sail a bit. By the same token, I would have expected him, if he is that brilliant, to adopt a different approach. I also think he needs to be a bit humble, if what I have seen so far, is his normal style. Being celebrated should not go to one's head to the extent of making you look arrogant.
He may be ace, but we need to see more to believe it.

Thanks PK, I never went to secondary school. I went to the old-style teacher training college, tutored myself through GCE 'O' and 'A' Levels, and missed first class by only six marks. I consider that a noble achievement, since almost all the subjects I did at both 'O' and 'A' were new to me. In fact I only used two months to read for the 'O' Economics and passed very well.
One of my colleagues, a very close friend from teacher training college, did 'A' Levels before doing the 'O'. He got A, B and C in the 'A' and went on to read Law, obtaining an upper second finally.
He is much more brilliant than Tdsatsu in practice, but because of a speech impediment may never have the opportunity to dazzle Ghanaians.
We should accept that being a first class student does not equate to a wonderful worker. The Tsatsu hype can only work against him.

He would not commit the fallacy of generalization by assuming that the same answer given him by the witness applies to all other pink sheets. It is only a lawyer of weak reasoning who would do that. Part is not certainly the same as the whole.

A "bad" lawyer or not he is still destroying NPP's evidence with pin point accuracy. We can all see his performance in court and we know he is excellent. It took you from 08/12/12 to just a few weeks ago to present your case and gather all your evidence but Tsatsu used less than an hour to punch big holes into your evidence so judge for yourself and honestly you will know you are hopeless and useless. Sooner or later he will touch on the spreadsheet use with false arithmetic and deceitful presentation by teaching Bawumia that an empty box on a spreadsheet does not mean it is zero or if doing your end of year accounting and figures for some departments are not yet ready, you do not assume them to be zeroes because when the values finally turn up and you input them onto the sheet, any formulae affecting that box changes everything drastically and if you put in a zero for a multiplication of that empty box you end up getting a graph or diagram that does not support the inputs of other departments and the company as a whole is made to look unprofessional and lacking sense.This becomes False Information through corruption or inefficiency and Bawumiah can choose one or both for himself.

I recall him saying that the first case he handled as a lawyer was before the late Justice Agyepong and he won and the Judge highly commended him. These are what I know. There could be some others I may not know. I do not speak for him for I am unfit to do so.

Akufo-Addo is always hiding behind people and later come to say he is a lawyer of renowned repute. I any case law practice is not the same as science, where can have his name imprinted on an invention. You will have to go to court to ask intelligent questions that will put the person in the dock under pressure to make confessions as Bawumia is doing currently. The outcome of this case will determine whether some faggot thinks Tsatsu is a good lawyer (cross examiner) or not.

Before the case, I'd said that Tsatsu Tsikata's nickname, legal lumianry was all a hype! There's nothing in the stomach of the lizard. Nothing! Let the man find somewhere to go and sleep. He's met a match in the brilliant economist and statistician. Tsatsu cannot brag; he's hasn't done anything, as far as I'm concerned. He tried to set a stage or a course on the 1st day; he failed to deliver in the next 3 days. The NDC probably tried to scare Dr. Bawumia by hyping Tsatsu Tsikata's name.....Tweaaa! They've ended up deceiving themselves; they must bow in shame.
