this is a lesson for the Government. He should sell those companies like tuba's and see where they will go for the strike. If is expensive, just limit its use!
investment in these ndustries are critical for our development. With low tarrifs, no investor will come in. If i become president for one week, the first thing i wil sell is electricity, tema oil refinery and water. Let these three things go out from the government and see where Ghana will develop to

What a wise analysis by Joseph Osei Yeboah. This are the quality of citizens Ghana needs to move onto advancement and progress. His comment was no political but it showed his concern for Ghana, the citizens and the workers which he considered more important than partisanship and selfishness and egotistical attitude by the TUC leaders and their political masters. Again, I applaud Mr Joseph Yeboah for making references to some of the European countries to give weight to his point/view. He did not just make an irresponsible headline comment to cheer the audience in the gallery/circuit. Instead he was objective, he did not do the finger pointing but advanced and suggested a better way the TUC or any labour or organisation could get to talk to address issue in the interest of the nation. Mr Joseph Osei Yeboah also showed that he is quite aware of the problems facing the economies in other countries and the consequences/repercussions on employment. Well done Mr Joseph Osei Yeboah. God bless you I hope others would emulate your love for Ghana. Only the nation wreckers and the would disagree for their selfish political satisfaction.

Are these Ghanaians literates at all? Look, who are most corrupt in Ghana, public sector. Who take the greater percentage of the government revenue, Public sector. Who always cry for more, Public sector. All private workers will go to work come their demo or strike but they will go for that demo.
After all, they don't even go to work most times and even if they go at all, they are late or leave as early as they can when work must still be in progress.
Simple thinking Ghanaians do not know that people are just trying to manipulate them to get power... Awww. Its so sad. You will see even professors and PhD holders just talking politics but not solutions.
I need just one person to say something that can solve Ghana's problem apart from changing power. Because even if we change power and we still don't know what to do, it will still be the same.
This man really spoke and I think he is one of the thinking Ghanaians left in Ghana. Look at what people are posting here, to insult him!!!! Really, Some Ghanaians will really suffer before they die or their children will really suffer. They don't think and they lack the selfless attitude that is needed to move Ghana on.

The problems and challenges which the gov't is facing, is a creation of their own recklessness, their own corruption riddled activities carefully orchestrated from the very seat of gov't-the Flagstaff house with the active participation and connivance of the powers that be. This challenges are not the creation of anybody, but that of the NDC gov't headed by the Mills-Mahama-Amissah Arthur administration from 2009 till present. The NDC gov't of Mahama-Amissah Arthur has failed woefully to meet the growth and development objectives of the country with a view to assuage and mitigate the numerous issues militating against their socio-economic development, and it is very instructive to note that, the NDC gov't has rather further compounded and worsened the already precarious situation of the already impoverished Ghanaian, which plight was being addressed competently by the previous NPP gov't, with the result that Ghana, within a period of 8 years was catapulted from a HIPC country to a lower middle income country, in the absence of oil. The NDC gov't has failed and the Mahama/Amissah Arthur administration needs to make way for a much more competent team with the proven track record and the experience to transform Ghana and put it on the path of growth.

Mr Osei Yeboah may probably have a short memory of the NDC gov't. When has the NDC gov't indicated that it lacks great thinkers in solving the nation's mounting socio-economic problems? Even when the ship is tilting and sinking with all their captains and engineers at their wits' end, with a wide array of experienced captains and engineers available to offer support, they (NDC)prefer to refuse any such offers in their fool-hardiness in their bizzare thinking that the ship belongs to them, hence steering it the way they deem fit. All other people are blockheads except them. This is an Executive arm gov't that is deliberately deaf and blind to anything, with an equally accompanying reckless majority in the legislature. A bunch of selfish, reckless, insensitive and sycophantic individuals vested with power to decide the fate of millions of Ghanaians.

Thanks for that wonderful article. We are the same public workers who plunged the country in to the situation she finds herself today and now we want to turn around and blame governments? Let's be patriotic a little and stop being hypocrites.why do we always want to consume without thinking of production? What alternative proposals have we submitted to government aimed at improving our revenue base? It is a fact that we are the root of all corruption,as a responsible body, what are we doing or have we done to stop corruption?
We want more power, increased salaries, more roads, just to mention a few, but we don't want to pay for it or even work for it!!This is impossible indeed!!! It is high time government should consider increasing taxes on public sector workers salaries to subsidize utility tariffs.
