Ghanaians must rise up to oppose the government's waste of our resources just to win election 2016. In this situation in which we find ourselves today, it would even to be unwise for Nana Addo/NPP to talk about free SHS if he is in power today. Two hundred SHS are not the nation's priority even though building 200 SHS is good. How can we look on to see Mahama waste our little resources on 200 SHS while we all know that he cannot effectively complete this project. We have no water , electricity, roads, food, and good healthcare (basic amenities. We have not been able to bring quality to our existing SHS why do we continue building more low quality SHS? Only God knows the type of SHS Mahama is going to put up. I learned in this article that they are waiting for support from the World Bank Which means, the they have not even received a dollar from the World Bank but they are cutting sod just in the name of politics and propaganda. Mahama would not rush to cut sod had it not been pressure Ghanaians have recently put on him asking him to fulfill his numerous promises. He knows the nation cannot afford this project at this time, but for face saving and propaganda, he rushes to cut the sod which he is only good at. My worry is, we should not sit down for him to waste the little resources only to complain tomorrow. If the country has money, he should put in proper use. He should try to improve upon the existing schools, improve upon water supply, electricity, etc. These are all important sectors when improved will also shoot up his credibility. The cabinet should act/perform.

Without trying to rekindle the pains of these best-friends-turned-arch-
enemies, I would like to remind you that it was the timely intervention of Boakye Gyan to rescue JJ from jail that saved the latter from firing squad in 1978.

But did JJ remember to return that favor, when he caught Boakye Gyan's younger brother, Kyeremeh Gyan, for attempting to overthrow JJ's regime? No! JJ got the young non-Military lad executed by firing squad.

I do not think Boakye Gyan was afraid of JJ to escape abroad. In fact, he was already abroad when his brother was engaging in the failed Coup that led to his execution. What authority does JJ have now to even declare Boakye Gyan a fugitive? The man comes and goes as he pleases. Would you expect JJ to attempt to apprehend him?

Why would you guys wanna rake up skeletons that might scare even you? Let the dead rest in Peace, and the Omnipotent sort things out for the living just so we may all enjoy a little freedom to fulfil whatever plan God has for us.

We only need to learn from our past mistakes to avoid repeating them. Vengeance would not solve anything. It would only perprpetuate cyclical violence and destabilize our Nation. We need a constructive closure to that sordid era of serial Coups, beginning with the 1966 one.
We ought to move forward wiser.

You sure seem to be exuding bottomless hatred for this guy. You are being either vengeful for some personal animosity against this guy, or you are entering a whole new policy realm of scouring the filthiest garbage to dump on others you disagree with. Hopefully, it is the former because the latter would cast a shadow on your long edtablished civility on this forum.

Nevertheless, this issue of free Education is turning out to portray both sides of our Political aisle as lacking in vision and pragmatism to tackle our immediate problems.

Could these two Parties have anything else of priority to focus on to improve our situation? How about creating the best environment to produce jobs? Encouraging and supporting local Enterprises to expand and sprout to offer good jobs? How about embarking upon a modern Sanitory System comprising most modern Wastewater Treatment Plants and subterranean Drainage network, or a massive overhaul of our Medical System to make it with better with the NHIS and encouraging the local manufacture of most of the Medicines we consume?

We are tired of being fooled with programs that seem gratuitous for political expediency and yet has little to no immediate Economic impact.

Free Education is great only if we have the wherewithal to implement it without starving other Economic activities that could immediate expand and firm up our Economic Foundation.

Why waste time and resources fighting on whose brainchild free Education is while we do not even seem to have adequate financing to maintain our Schools or pay the salaries of our Teachers?

Let me see our Executive and Judiciary aggressively going after the Woyomegate and GYEEDA monies, and taking the needed measures to place our National Assets like the Ashanti Gold, in the hands of majority Ghanaian stakeholders first. Then I can believe all these talks of free Education are not a fluke to con us for votes.

Free Education done partly eg. at SHS, PRIMARY SCHOOL, VOCATIONAL, TECHNICAL levels or not is a NATIONAL AGENDA twinned into the proud and enviable brain child of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah's 7 YEARS DEVELPOMENT PLAN. Free Education is enchrined into our Constitution. Unfortunately, some parties have been politically naïve they couldn't see it and adopted a 'looting of state property' mentality when in power. May be they are now awoken to see how much they have destroyed the advancement of the nation. A National Agenda must be implemented irrespective of which party in power- NDC, NPP, PPP, CPP, PNP or ndp etc. It is about time we focus and commit ourselves to National Agenda for development and progress of Ghana than this myopic political attitude and mentality of party policy!.

Like Boakye gyan said, Nana relizing that he has nothing more to say, desperately coined the message from the leftist ideology just to win votes. He had very little or not belief in it. Any politician who is sensible and love GHANA must stop pointing at where TRIBAL POLITICS might have come from, because that will not take us anywhere. Those who are opposing the NDC's free SHS policy are some of same group that opposed the pavilion school system which produced a lot of schools both JHS and SHS School. It is the same group that sabotaged the academic calendar by leading universities on strike in the 80s to achieve the end of the masters and flew outside to continue their schooling. We survived all that. Today we have accepted their return into the mainstream economy after twisting the arms of our governments into VODAFONE etc.
The same group and their parents did not believe that the PNDC could send power to hamlets in the north. I know some of them were given the boot.

Did Boakye Gyan decided to join NPP ask yourself why, every one knew he was strong opposition to Mr. Rawlings when he was in Britain because he was then been manipulated and brain wash by the same colonial masters, but when he arrived in Ghana he notice that JJ had done a good job for the country so NDC is only party was his good choice. So the former spoke man for AFRC regime made up his mind to ascend to a better and reasonable broad base party and no human can change that. Every one in Ghana knows NPP is a tribal group rather than a party.
