But can NPP say the same of Akuffo Addo? NO! His margin of vote from 2008 was about 40,000 but in 2012 it was about 500,000 difference.

So dont copy blindly. Change Akuffo Addo because if you bring him 1000x he will not win any elections in Ghana here.

Instead of following daniel bugri of the northern region to call for peace and unity he started dividing the party with his stupid call on akuffo addo to become president come what may. I'm just wondering whether NPP has no men or women to lead the party apart this akuffo addo who has had two chances and failed to bring power to the party. On each occasion his votes keeps dwindling and the parliamentary seats for npp keeps coming down. I dont think he should be pressurised to bow out at the outset. if anything he should also test his popularity with the delegates if indeed the NPP has any succession plans. This is democracy at work. If Alan's man, Afoko wins the chairmanship, then it would amount to chicanery to ask Alan not to run. Akuffo-Addo should have refused to run this time around to allow for fresh blood since his % of votes garnered decreased in his second attempt at the presidency in 2012. he does not have the charisma and platform to woo the independent voters given his yen Akanfuo, drug use, certificateless lawyer, and All-die-be-die past.

Despite practising democracy, contenders for flagbearership should know their position or stand in the party before contesting a post to leave the most likely few two or three members to be chosen by ballot box. This makes sense for the unity of the party and not fragmentations.
Afterall the leadership qualities are not tested in the ballot box but by one's exposition and rank in the Party.

Can one to be chosen deliver the policies in the manifesto to convince the 'floating voters'for the party to be elected by the 'floating' voters?
