The roads should have been fixed before the rehabilitation of the bridge. What we are experiencing now is two troubles. Development should not only be Accra and Kumasi. We need help.

I would like to let the Speaker know that his mere acknowledgment of the deplorable state of the Road is not enough to correct the failure associated with it.
As a Speaker of the Parliament, he has the requisite legal clout to induce the full engagement of the Parliament in tackling the ineptitude and negligence of the Government in ensuring the Road and many other similar vital projects in the Country are accomplished on schedule.
The only reason why such projects still remain incomplete is that someone, somewhere in the System is misdirecting the Funds slated for those projects. And the Parliamentarians, in whose Constituencies the projects reside, must know of them and should have long been doing more to get the projects completed, and expertly so.
The fact that the projects have been stuck in this state for this long is testimony to the lassitude of, and dereliction of duty by, the Parliamentarians, including the Speaker.
This late acknowledgment by the Speaker raises more questions than answers to solving the problems at hand. Some of the elements of quandary include the following:
Which Contractors are responsible for the Construction of those Roads and other abandoned projects? Why have they abandoned the projects? Could it be because of lack of Funds, or simply misuse of the Resources? If it were for lack for Funds, how did the Funds get depleted? Did any surge in cost occur due to pre-Construction miscalculation in inflationary vicissitudes? Has the Inspector (Auditor)-General been conducting any routine inspection on these Projects to see how the Contractors were keeping up with their respective schedules? And how were the Contractors chosen to undertake the various projects, in the first place?
These and many more relevant questions and their answers should have, by now, been assembled by the Parliament on all the projects that the Executive has solicited funds from the Parliament to undertake.
As things stand, I could safely assume that the Parliamentarians either do not really care, or they are implicated in some hideous machinations to milk the Nation.
If they do not accept that characterization, they must promptly and boldly climb up to the public arena to educate the Public on what exactly is happening with those projects, and how they are going to ensure the completion of these projects without further delay.
The Speaker must convene a special session of the Parliament to extract detail accounts from the MPs on all projects under their jurisdiction to let the Public know how effectively or otherwise the Nation's revenues are being expended.
And to the Electorate, I would strongly admonish all to vote out of office any MP who might have been inadequately attentive to the needs of their Constituencies, of which provable abandonment of Projects must be cited as example.
