  KNUST failed to rusticate and report to the police a female student who beat up her roommate; the lecturers have been bought.
  
  It has been said that many lecturers lack teaching methodologies. What should be the minimum requirement when recruiting lecturers into a tertiary institution? Is it a masters degree or a PhD with a course in education??
  
  Professors in tertiary institutions must read GES directives. There are many important and useful GES directives which would help them.
  
  GES banned all forms of corporal punishment in Educational institutions but there are reports that some tertiary institutions are still carrying out this practice. Asking students to kneel down and so on.
  
  Lecturers in tertiary institutions must recognize the fact that students in these institution are adults.

  A little old lady answered a knock on the door one day, only to be confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner.
  
  Good morning, " said the young man. "If I could take a couple of minutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners. "
  
  "Go away!" said the old lady. "I haven't got any money!" and she proceeded to close the door.
  
  Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed wide open. "Don't be too hasty!" he said. "Not until you have at least seen my demonstration." And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure onto her hallway carpet.
  
  "If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder."
  
  The old lady stepped back and said, "Well I hope you've got a darn good appetite, because they cut off my electricity this morning."

  This law guy is a joke. It's just like saying a catholic Cardinal that decides to be a practicing pagan telling the Pope he wants to keep his voting rights at the Holy See during a Conclave. In you want independence, you vacate the seat you deceived to represent. You can't claim independence and enjoy the fruits of your benefactor at the same time.

  He is aware that,even in the U.S,where legislators enjoy a fair amount of freedom in voting,political parties still main a tight leash on their members;and for good reason!

  In interllectual discourse it is very well to appreciate opinion of all contributors. Yet one can rebutter that opinion based of common sense or technical facfors. From comon sense the Law Prof may with the due respect might not have balance the probability of balance effect of such a proposition. Technically, political parties are like independent boats with like minded people moving to a particular destination. if one disagrees with the destination, the appropriate thing to do is to alight and join another boat to his desirable desination. An PM can not cross carpet like changing his sleeping position on the shared bed of or with the wife/husband. He must vacate the seat. Our 1992 Constitution is right and good in meeting common sense and rationality.

Why should any principled person, especially a Legislature, feel imprisoned by a Political Party or be afraid to seek another mandate from his or her Constituency? Where is the dignity? Better to lose your seat than be used as a pawn by a Party!

  Instead of studying what pertains in the country they are talking about they rushed to talk forgeting that we cannot have the same laws as other countries.
  If that system works in America or elsewhere it does not mean it can work in Ghana too.In Ghana people are generally elected to parliament not because of the individuals but because of the party they represent so if one decides not to be a member of that party anymore the best is to lose the seat and if he thinks he can make it back he goes back to the people to vote him back.
  
  This man should have done his homework well before wasting out time with this crap.

  I think the best thing to do is to organize referenda for law-makers who cross carpets. The electorate had elected them based on their conscience, credentials, the interests, and their pledged allegiance to their party.When they cross carpet, it turns into a question of betrayal and deceit.It therefore makes sense to make them vacate their seats and face a special refendum-this will be fair to the electorate.
