*Why Corruption Is Endemic in Africa: Corruption was set up by the colonial overlords who used their western style education to train Africans to be bureaucrats in the civil service. Thus, propagating bureaucracy and corruption to favor the colonialists. This is why Boko Haram for example are livid with the corrupt, number changing, ballot stuffing nature of these western educated, African govt bureaucrats in naija. Will Boko haram end up in Ghana? Why not?
*Govt officials must stop buying state contracts and selling them off as investments to the highest bidder. In the end, less quality materials are used in building infrastructure, and the nation's suffers.
*Police Corruption: police officers often borrow monies to pay bribes/sign contracts to their bosses to get these jobs. So they must collect bribes from motorists etc to pay off their bosses every month until their debts are paid off. So guess how many police superiors are in on this corruption pyramid scheme?
*SOLUTION:
1. Corruption Sensitivity Training: Educate the executives(attorney general, the judges, public officials, immigration, police officers)about the short, long term effects and impacts of corruption. Corruption Sensitivity Training should be a mandatory part of interview process, class, testing requirement for all ministers and public sector officials. Make them aware of the consequences and have them sign off on this. If judges, police officers, employees are educated and made to understand the explicit and implicit impacts of corruption and how it affects their own salaries, bonuses etc. Things will change!

Nkrumah inaugurated the Akosombo dam in January 1966. He was overthrown by the CIA and the Danquah-Busia forces within the Army and Police. The NLC military dictatorship under the advice of Busia & Co stopped all of Nkrumah's development projects, including the construction of the Kpong and Bui dams.

Go to the library and find a copy of Nkumah's Seven-Year Development Plan and educate yourself on what Nkrumah planned for Ghana before making ignorant statements like the idiot musician, Okyeame. Busia came and enjoyed what Nkrumah had already built before he was overthrown! Busia did not add a pesewa to Ghana's development. On the contrary he and his military idiots came and put the brakes on Ghana's development!

If Kwame Nkrumah had not built Akosombo it wouldn't have been dumsor but Boy Kwame you will be sleeping in TOTAL DARKNESS. Kwame Nkrumah built Akosombo when Danquah and Busia were vehemently against it. Busia even went as far to US Congress to stop the US Investors to help finance the project which by the way, Ghana contributed over 35 Million Pounds out of the 130 Million Pounds Project cost.

Boy Kwame need to told that when the Akosonbo was completed and opened in Janaury of 1966 it took only a month and he was ousted from office with the help of Mate Meho UP traitors who have now mutated to NPP but the same Virus that has infested Ghana from time immemorial. Bui dam was in the pipeline when Akosombo was built but was that was only completed a year ago - about 40 years too late.

Busia who was running the perimeters of Ghana on his Sabotage tour signed the energy contract with Félix Houphouët-Boigny of Ivory Coast (who helped him when he was in self-imposed Exile) and Étienne Gnassingbé Eyadéma of Togo another dictator who ruled fron 1967 to 2005. These are the people Busia the so called democrat went to bed with - hard core dictators when his false claim was Nkrumah was a dictator. What a paradox! We all know who Félix Houphouët-Boigny was. He was a dictator who ruled a one Party state in Ivory Coast from 1960 until 1993 when he died.

So Boy Kwame our woes of Dumsor started with the infamous 24th Feb 1966 coup. This Boy should be reminded that Ghana completed Kwabenya Atomic energy in 1964 when most advanced countries in world didn't even possess one. Ghana Atomic energy should Long ago be be suppling energy for civilian purpose and maybe on edge of being in line with our peers India and Pakistan who are now Atomic states. Way back in 2007, the VRA boss said the Akosombo dam can never be shut down. People are just understand how electricity is generated. They are making "senseless and baseless suggestions".

I remember Mr. Koffi advising the general public to assist in finding an end to the crisis by adhering to the energy conservation measures like switching off the lights when not in use and also by using energy saving bulbs.

I wonder how many of us listened to his advice.

I throw a challenge to Okyeame Kwame and all other Ghanaian artistes to publish their tax payments in the last four years to warrant their accusation of present and past governments over the dumsor saga. Much as we have the right to criticize out leaders, it's equally incumbent in us to give them the needed resources to carry out the tasks. So let this critics publish their tax payments and I'll support their calls. Otherwise, they are unduly being unfair to the leaders.

Nkrumah had the wisdom to build Akosumbo to start our development programme. Subsequent governments did not see the rate of urbanization that was happening in Ghana.

Okyeame Kwame should be wrong by indicting Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in the current peril of the nation (DUMSOR). Dr. Nkrumah was overthrown partly because those myopic successors thought he was wasting money on building additional dams like the Bui and others on major rivers in the country. If he had no clue about our current situation why would he have bothered to build two dams for just 6 million people at that time. Come back again properly, Mr. Versatile.
