The Chairman of the NPP is a Northerner, as is the running mate in whom the flagbearer has kept faith for three consecutive runs against all criticism from inside and outside the party. Everyone knows that Nana is deliberately preparing Bawumia to succeed him as his protégé, just Kufuor prepared Alan as his protégé.

It's also important to note that while in the NPP the chairmanship has been alternating between several tribes (Akans, Gabon, Northerner, etc), in the NDC the positioned has been held almost always by an Ewe. In fact, check the profiles of the NDC national executives. You'll see the dominance of Ewes. Compare that to the NPP. You'll notice that in the NPP the national executives are evenly spread.

Moreover, since the beginning of the 4th Republic, the NPP is the only party that has gone into government with a northerner as the second most important person in government (the Vice President). It's also the only party with an affirmative action on regional balance regarding the flagbearer and the running mate, that is, if the presidential candidate is from the North, the running mate must come from the South and vice versa. Again, Nana Addo has been the strongest advocate for this policy.

Yet, it's the NDC that continues to force on us the impression that the NPP and Naa Addo are ethnocentric. Once more, they have no record to campaign on and hope to win 2016 on negative propaganda, including playing the ethnic card. Ghanaians must reject this kind of politics, otherwise the NDC will never learn to offer us good governance, and sooner or later the NPP will begin to behave like the NDC in order to win elections. In fact, that was the essence of the Osafo Marfo statement. That he was advising his party to learn from the NDC in selecting winnable candidates was completely lost on social commentators and journalists.

You guys in the NDC should continue to hate Akans, NPP and all other opponents without thinking of having a competent president and an able government for Ghana. In fact, whoever does that is not only depriving Ghana of good leadership but in the long run, wishing away or blowing the future prosperity of their children and children's children. No one can stop an Akan from being an Akan, neither can Akan stop an Ewe from being an Ewe, in the same way an Akan cannot drain the blood in a Northerner and fill him or her with a Sefwi blood. All I am trying to say is that this is a natural thing that human beings have absolutely no control over therefore, if we love our country and wants to live in an economically sound country, that ugly tribal politics should cease. If we want a better place for our children, that unflinching support for a particular party should stop. If Ghanaians would like to live in their own country and live happily, that partern of votes where a region votes 99% for a particular party should stop. Competence, merit, capability should be the key words when one goes to the pooling station to cast his or her vote but not on the love or hatred for a particular candidate or party. A word to the wise is enough.

Its the parties name NDC/NPP, or CTS? Which means Creating Tribal Sentiment. The poor voters also happy receiving the seed into their heart, can't we poor voters think, that most of the wars in Africa here are tribal wars? Think of South Sudan, Ivory Coast, the Biafra war with Nigeria, what about Ruwanda, even our own North. And because one senseless politician who children schooling in abroad, who can run from the country within a seconds if trouble broke out bring useless tribal comment, we want to use it to our favour, forgetting that it can destroy the country we're fighting to rule. If it was before when politics never take our Africa brain out, we will handle these kind of tribal issues with all carefulness but, what are we seeing now? My poor brothers and sisters think once again oo.. There is Ashantes wise saying that say Opanin dua mante mante, I may not explain it well the way you will understand it in english better, its says, an elderly man plant I heard nothing.
