Now another from a doctorate holder has also surfaced. i used to feel that for everything my country first irrespective of my tribe. I have positive feelings for NPP and an avid critic of this government though am a notherner; but this accumulated tribal incidences from certain Akans makes me feel like i was a tribal bastard and i think several others would think same.These unpleasant comments therefore are nipping the party in the bud if care is not taken

This is one of the most bizarre and weird analysis to be heard from a political scientist.This misplaced analysis is a clear indication that Dr Amoako Baah himself subconsciously is full of ethnic prejudice and extremely partisan in his submissions.The fact that this country electoral pattern will be ethnic based rather than issue based is because of propagation of ethnic sentiments by intellectuals of his sort who should know better.If there is one thing i abhor and deeply resent as a northerner it has to be ethnic or tribal based politics because it deeply affects our development.Why am i saying this?It is because in some constituencies in the north if you pitch a cow under the umbrella of NDC against a worthy NPP candidate the cow is likely to emerge victorious.The same applies to some typical Ashanti constituencies who are politico-tribally biased towards NPP.But one cannot blame this unfortunate situation in which politico-tribally biased voting does not offer worthy competition against some greedy,lousy and incompetent MPs who have strangle hold onto their seats for decades.Development in these areas by way of socioeconomic gains is under the mercy of the MP.It is veil propaganda and stupid mentality for anybody to talk about MPs being law makers in an attempt to obliterate their over side responsibility of developing and empowering their constituents.Unfortunately this only come during elections when they troop back to their constituencies to take full advantage of poor and ignorant constituents by literally bribing their way back to parliament.In some extremely deprived constituencies in the north maggi cubes and one ghana cedis notes have won elections for non-performing and incompetent MPs who obviously are oblivious of their duties as MPs.Tricycles,motorbikes and bicycles therefore are huge incentives to enable the so-called MP go back to parliament to sleep and enrich him or herself whiles constituents wallow in abject poverty.This is not politics.This is heartless 'politricks' with callous and inhuman motives.The reality instigating this unfortunate situation is the Akan ethic group who introduced tribally polarized politics in this country merely by demeaning and discriminating against other ethnic groups like northerners and ewes.It is not just in politics but it happens even in our public institutions.A good example is the Director General of Ghana Health Service who dismissed 2 doctors(an Ewe and a Northerner) merely because he suspected they were NDC members.This irrational act by a top civil servant is a clear indication that tribalism,ethnic prejudice and discrimination has eaten deep into the social fabric of this country.Tribal hate and whipping tribal sentiments surprisingly has always been the motive of Akan intellectuals like Amoako-Baah.This has helped fueled suspicion with evidence in some cases that Akans generally not only one to discriminate but dominate other tribes they deem inferior to them.This is wishful precolonial mentality that can neither be supported by sociology nor anthropology in modern day Ghana.Amoako-Baah in his minds eye may think this is a nice political trick to mask the ethnic effusions of Osafo Maafo.In my view it is only a serious political suicide because it will only help fuel the rebellion and rejection of Akans and the NPP by Northerners and Ewes as a counter measure to discrimination.What happened to NPP heritage UP northern stalwarts like Jato Kaleo,Chief Dombo,Chief Mummuni Dimbie,Chief Abeifa Karbo etc?The NPP can only become a formidable force in the North and Volta Regions by being open and tolerant of other ethnic groups other than Akans.It can only happen if Akan intellectuals like Amoako-Baah dissociate themselves from tribalism and politico-tribal politics they orchestrated and nurtured with the view of dominating other ethnic groups.
