The strategy the NPP is adopting may prove to be very effective in 2016 election.The NPP unlike the NDC have a lot of intellectuals and are deliberately broadening the intellectual base of their party by consistently engaging youth in tertiary institutions.They have deliberately deployed a young intellectual in the person of Dr.Bawumia to consistently campaign and draw tertiary students closer to their party through series of campus lectures.Most of these students i presume will be good conduits in educating their communities on NPP policies and also as effective tools for propaganda work.Their TESCON wing will be a lethal weapon against the NDC especially with the proliferation of radio stations in virtually every corner of Ghana.This is the way is should go.NDC by stark contrast have few intellectuals with some greedy,callous and self centered old gurus crippling young intellectuals within its rank who they perceive as threat.Sabotage and destruction of young intellectuals committed to the ideals of the party have compelled many into a state of indifference,oblivion or defection to the opposition NPP.The Founder laid a very good foundation for the party before the advent of multi-party democracy in 1992 by offering numerous scholarships for people to study in countries like Cuba and Eastern European States like Russia who returned to built a solid intellectual base for the party.The founder also deliberately hunted and con other intellectuals from all walks of life to serve in the party.In recent times we are seeing a complete departure from this in which some old gurus informed by mere greed and envy are engaging in diabolic and malicious acts of destruction of young intellectuals in the NDC party to have strangle hold unto power.Old gurus like Alban Bagbin are witch hunting and destroying young intellectuals in the Upper West for example perceived as a threat to him.Callous schemes and machinations instituted by the likes of Alban Bagbin have been ruthless in dealing with the NDC youth in upper west with many losing their jobs and some mysteriously dying in the process.A conscious effort informed by avid greed and self-centredness to remain excessively,perpetually wealthy and powerful to be worship as a thin god is the problem.Alban Bagbin for example have had problems with a good number of medical practitioners from the upper west who he seems to have inherent hatred for.When you have a situation where old guards want to be perpetually powerful, the only ones seen and heard to the extent of stifling others then there is a big problem.Power struggle,power lust informed by excessive greed and morbid jealousy is not helping the NDC as a party in an attempt to develop its intellectual base.The NPP is on course and the NDC should better emulate the good example because it will count in the future.
