First, it should not be the case that, with the advent of technology, meetings necessarily have to be held at one place.
This is a meeting we are being made to believe was an emergency, so why should it necessarily be called by the Chairman or GS, if the party constitution provides the avenue for a meeting to be called in the absence of the Chairman and the GS?
What prevented the Chairman and GS from partaking in the meeting in this time and age of technology and what prevented them from calling for it in the first place? Are we to say that, had the Chairman's flight delayed or the trip of the GS to Accra, where the party HQ's is situated and the meeting was going to be held, had been held up as a result of whatever reasons, the party machinery should have ground to a halt or been in abeyance?
The NPP needs to adopt modern practices and technology to keep the party's machinery running around the clock with the necessary safeguards built into the system to prevent snooping and leaks. And this goes for meetings that are held within the party offices with respect to security of the discussions at such meetings.
The traditional way of doing things should give way to better and efficient use of time, resources and logistics that guarantees results with minimal effort and constraints.
Secondly, the GS said he was at a funeral of his in-law in Nkoranza in the BA REGION. One does not know if he had the support of the party in his time of bereavement by going to support him at Nkoranza in the BA REGION. If the party went to Nkoranza in the BA REGION and support him, all well and good and we say an excellent job done, but if they didn't, then shame on the party for deserting the GS at Nkoranza in the BA REGION.
Thirdly, to see the holding of a simple meeting degenerate into such a needless back and forth with the failed NDC party pouring more fuel onto it, shows that, the Mahama-led NDC gov't has absolutely no message going into 2016 and would clutch at anything to foster disunity in the party and break the NPP's front, classic symptoms of a failed party and leadership.
However, NPP need not lose sight of the fact that, that in itself is a strategy, and the way to blunt that is to use this opportunity to address whatever underlying issues and grievances bedeviling the leadership of the party going into 2016. Ghana can lest afford another 4years of the failed leadership of the NDC party, but the reality is, if the NPP continues like this, Ghana would most definitely end up with another 4years of the NDC party and Ghanaians will not forgive the NPP party.
Ghanaians want change from the failed, do-nothing, clueless, incompetent and thieving Mahama-led NDC gov't, and the NPP should show they are worthy of the call to lead this chnage and put Ghana back, on the path of positive growth and development, which Ghanaians demand of our leaders.
The ball is in the court of the NPP party and leadership. Are they up to it? We live to see.
