That the suspect helps the police to apprehend criminals does not exempt him from being a criminal. After all the most heinous crimes have been on record to have been committed by men in uniforms. Because, this is an emotional statement you've made and , you know very well that LAW does not dwell on emotions.. but on LEGAL FACTs
To me, even if it is found that Gregory had murdered (second degree)Adama out of sympathy for his brother Paul, he Paul cannot be held responsible in law and should not resign from his post. Remember, Gregory and Paul are clearly two and separate individuals!
