You are repeating exactly what Rawlings and his "let the blood flow" misguided, inexperienced youth of this country said years ago. They claimed that our older leaders had failed and they took over the country in the 80s and mismanaged it for 20years. The result was a Cuban-style communist dictatorship, economic mismanagement, Rawlings' Chain" and abject poverty.

Those revolutionary youth who were wearing tire sandals and condemned market women to death for petty profiteering, are now billionaires enjoying power and money fraudulently. Throughout the period when Ghana was called "ojah krom", they perpetuated their rule through the gun and electoral malpractices. Unfortunately, they are the ones overseeing the sinking of this country today and they will do everything in their power to rig the elections and continue their mediocre rule, despite the fact that Ghanaians want them out.

Believe me; suggesting that the "youth" should take over the running of this country again will not fly.

Every town, village and hamlet in Gonjaland has received a facelift with new facilities such as roads, toilet facilities, markets, mosques, good quality water projects, electricity extension projects, etc. The question is did J. J. Rawlings do the same thing to Voltarians when he was in power for twenty years? What about Atta Mills. The good old Prof was in power for three and a half years yet he was not selfish to only concentrate on his people in Ekumfi Etuam and the central Region but rather his whole thought was for the general good. No wonder under the care of Prez Mills, Ghana achieved a growth rate of 11%, single digit inflation and the smooth implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy where newly recruited police personnel received the nominal equivalence of 500dollars as monthly salary. Compare these achievements to the nepotism and selfish policies of the Mahama government that has crippled the Ghanaian economy. I really weep for Ewes and Fantis whose votes brought Mahama to power and yet are the hardest hit by the current hardship prevailing in the country.

A call has been made to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the President of the Republic and the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), to, as a matter of urgency, intervene in the seemingly looming tension that is brewing between supporters of the two major political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Techiman in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

A leading member of the NDC in Techiman, Kwadwo Adjei, disclosed to DAILY GUIDE that the situation might get out of hands if the authorities fail to take the necessary steps to address the early warning signs.

According to him, information had reached the NDC leadership in the area that some supporters of the NPP had planned to revenge an acid attack on one of its members in Techiman Municipality during the 2012 electioneering campaigns which was allegedly orchestrated by some NDC supporters.

The supposed planned reprisal attack, he explained, is because the police in Techiman have failed to make any arrest though an NDC youth activist, Kwasi Attipoe, had publicly announced that he knew the perpetrators of that heinous acid attack.

The victim of the acid attack, Peter Mensah, was flown abroad by the leadership of the NPP and has successfully undergone some surgery.

“If the police allowed the perpetrators to walk free on the streets of Techiman, what do you think will happen?” quizzed.

He expressed concern about the violent nature of some NDC supporters in the municipality, adding, “Despite our individual political differences, we are still brothers and sisters and we must allow the laws to operate without any bias.”

Accusing some senior officials of the ruling NDC in the area of spearheading the acid and other violent attacks in the municipality, Mr Adjei called on the Techiman municipal chief executive and the Brong-Ahafo regional minister, to back off and allow the police to do its work.

“The unnecessary interference of some politicians in the work of the police will not only affect the justice delivery system, but also wane public trust and confidence in the police,” he bemoaned.

Mr Adjei cautioned that the 2016 elections would be chaotic in the Techiman Municipality if the police fail to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators who poured the acid on the NPP activist.

The NDC stalwart, therefore, appealed to the leadership of the NDC not to shield the perpetrators, but rather hand them over to the police for the party to restore its image and reputation.

He emphasized that from all indications, the NDC would retain power in 2016 and challenged the party leadership to ensure that all forms of acts that could mar the general elections are avoided.

My concern however is how much exposure does she have on the Political scene?

In the West aspirants at that level start earlier in their lives like at secondary school level working at the Constituency level working unpaid at the constituency level, distributing leaflets prior to elections, getting to know the ins and outs of the constituency and involving themselves in fund-raising etc not forgetting being paid-up members of the party. Then attending Youth conferences etc
By the time they've "cut their teeth" and are eloquent orators, nurtured properly to address crowds and conferences; understood the ideals of the party to be able to project it articulately to an audience, then she can try being a Councillor ( Assembly woman in our case ) to learn how to handle development issues at the District level before ushering her into the National front.
Kwabre District have found their gem.
this wouldn't happen in Amansie district or Kwaebibirem where I'm from bcos we need not only players but problem-solvers in those districts.
She has a lot to learn academically, socially, politically and Internationally before she step out onto wider platforms as this.
The likes of Sarah Tether (Lib Dems) Chloe Smith (Conservative) strike a cord but they had the exposure beforehand. I remember the former appeared on BBC "Question Time" to discuss National & International issues long before she became MP.
Can Francisca update us on the Government's current position on the Energy crisis and or How she would lobby Parliament or the Government on Climate change or even Sanitation for example.

The older ones should pave way for fresh ideas yes, but certainly not green horns!!!
