READ WHAT HE SAID:

Interior Minister, Mark Woyongo, has indicated that his outfit will soon legalise the activities of vigilante groups, Azorka boys and Bolga Bulldogs.

“From now onwards we are going to ensure that those who operate have value or credible documents to operate as security agencies. These security companies will have to be licensed,” the minister suggested.

These groups have been accused of perpetrating violent crimes during the just ended Talensi by-election in the Upper East Region.

Even though former President Jerry John Rawlings has called for some of the members of these groups to be arrested and prosecuted, the Interior Minister believes their activities should rather be regulated.

“There are some of them who are not licensed and they are operating. They are operating illegally. The law is that if you want to operate a security company in Ghana you must have a license. You must have a license to operate a security company and some of them do not have the license but they are operating,” he stated.

Azorka boys, Bolga Bulldogs are security companies

Asked whether Azorka boys and Bolga Bull dogs belonged to security companies, the Minister responded in the affirmative, saying “of course they belong to security companies. For sometime now, they have been operating as security companies.”

Azorka boys only protected themselves

Meanwhile the Minister has defended the attack staged by both groups, describing their actions as a pure case of “violence begets violence.”

“Violence begets violence. Azoka boys will not act violent if they were not provoked. The other side also brought in some people…the Invincible Forces and then the Bolga Boys, so violence begets violence.

“What I mean is that if you are a peace lover and someone comes to attack you, definitely you have to protect yourself”, Mark Woyongo remarked on Kumasi based Ultimate Radio

The useless NDC PARTY has introduced these criminal groups that have never been known in our political culture, and as such degraded governance. The politics of LIES, VIOLENCE (macho men) TRIBAL DISCRIMINATION and INSULTS is placing Ghana in a bad light. IT IS MAKING US UNCIVILIZED, and some of us are very ashamed to identify with GHANA. I have said time and time again that politics is not for the poor. PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE THEIR OWN BUSINESSES TO RUN HAVE NO BUSINESS IN POLITICS. Let me tell you that your Kenedy Agyapong, Osafo Marfo cannot wish massacre of tribes (Ewes, Gas, etc.) and shower insults of regions of other tribes being poor, and you will expect the same group of people to vote for your Nana Addo to president or national Nana. I want to tell you that it is the Akyen-Ahsante Class of politicians who really want to make the voltarians 'fools' rather. Ephson, I believed you when you posited that the opposition parties could carry the day if they were to present a common candidate in Talensi. The results confirmed this position of yours. However just as neither PNC nor the NPP would step down for the other, so it would be in 2016. The law of averages would still prevail and most of these factors which favour one candidate over the other in this area or that, will play out and the results of the Presidential elections in 2016 would not depart significantly from what happened in Talensi by election, where all the political parties deployed all their strategies with all their arsenal and the NDC, the most popular came out tops. If you are saying this to smoothen the wounds of NPP, fine, but don't forget that this by-election also gives the NDC a morale booster as it would have done to the NPP. Surprises do not generally surpass a trend.

WHICH LAW OF OUR LAND ALLOWS THIS? If the Ghana police service doesn't arrest this criminal and disband his criminal gang to discourage this kind of lawlessness, then the police service as a law enforcing agent itself will become weak and useless in the very near future. Criminals like Azorka who can think of forming such a criminal gang to intimidate law abiding citizens at an election time is a HUGE THREAT TO THE PEACE AND SECURITY OF GHANA. We as a people can no longer hold elections in a quiet and peaceful manner like any other civilized people because of law breakers like Azorka. It was a shameful, criminal and uncivilized act that was displaced in Talensi, and must be stopped before it gain any root. Such criminal groups are undoubtedly easy to move into armed robbery and other evils in our society. STOP AZORKA ON HIS TRACK BEFORE HE PLUNGE GHANA INTO CHAOS.

Talensi offers a peep into 2016 especially as it was a seat previously held by the opposition NPP and being snatched away by the governing NDC that is said not to be doing well. It is a very significant victory considering the huge bragging rights now bestowed on NDC, leaving NPP to seek solace in pitiable excuses. "efie mpo ni" Ever heard of that song? NPP were not ready for this by-election. They had an ignition failure in Parliament when they tried to prevent the holding of the by election by claiming that the new chief had not been gazzetted. Just as they did with Joe Amoateng, only this time it was an NDC majority and an NDC speaker who would not have any of that. The best strategy would have been to prevail on their MP to wait till the end of 2016 to ascend the throne and avoid losing the seat to the NDC just 2years after snatching it. They should have clung to it for as long as possible to make further inroads in 2016. Kweku Baako was spot on with his opinion on this point. But being at cocky as usual they adopted a ver abraisive strategy with the new kid Wontumi and the the bare chested shrine visiting goons. The role of the ancient soothsayer Tindana of Baare in the defeat of NPP is for another day. There was nothing innovative about the approach of the NPP, except perhaps their foolhardiness in believing themselves capable of winning without their Party Chairman and Secretary. Freddie Blay and Gabby Otchere Darko, the master strategists and authors of the "12 shots" fired at them and missing. I cannot help laughing. Maybe the shrine visit was not in vain afterall. We need Arthur Kennedy to put all this in proper perspective.

Peace loving Ghanaians all over the world are demanding the resignation of the Minister of Interior Mark Owen Woyongo of the Mahama-led NDC gov't, for failing in his duties and most especially, in the interest of the peace and stability of this country in the lead up to the 2016 elections, during and after the elections. Mark Owen Woyongo has through his actions together with the Sofo Azorka led Azorka boys, have begun on a path to disenfranchise and intimidate and suppress the fundamental constitutional human right of the Ghanaian to vote in a democracy, and Ghanaians deem such action as completely untenable in exercising their right to self determination. Mark Owen Woyongo can therefore not hold himself out as the Minister of Interior of this country and in the interest of the peace and stability of this country, peace loving Ghanaians are demanding Mark Owen Woyongo resigns pronto.
