The doctors have every right to strike as a union, no matter how many lives may be lost in Ghana,although very painful for a poor country like Ghana. The government at this point has no choice, but to give in to their demands. Mahama's government is likely to go down with these strikes.

Even Saudi Arabia doctors don't get that much freebies. US doctors get zero of the demands they have listed.
they can strike all they want but no pay while not working and vacate their government bungalows also, then they will smell something.
In addition they must be sued to account for the death and harm they have caused for every patient, the same patients who gave them free education.
Parliament must pass a strong series of laws to prevent this nonsense from happening again in our republic. We can follow the example of Ronald Reagan who fired ALL US Air Traffic Controllers in one day when they went on strike rather than play games with US national security. Bill Clinton also fired all US District Attorneys in similar situation, in one day.

But the govt should separate the aluta boys from the dedicated ones who are still working despite the strike action.
Secondly, govt should form a separate a medical association for those medical doctors working in govt hospitals only. GMA which is made up of private medical doctors is bias and not credible to negotiate and hold the nation into ransom.
