It is ironic that two of the most divisive and destructive elements in NPP, Professors Amoako Baah and Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr., would give any advice for restoring Peace in NPP.
These two folks alone have done more harm to the efforts to unify the NPP than all other agent provocateurs together.
Even as they seem to be appealing for Peace, Professor Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr. indulges in the same baseless accusation of former President Kufuor that might have contributed to the protraction of the feud in the Party. The Professor's allegation against the former President that the latter has been the main cause of the feud in the NPP for failing to adequately promote Akufo-Addo in 2008, has been a big impediment in the way of Peace in NPP, and yet, here the Prof. goes again, foolhardily repeating that charge amidst his calls for Peace.
I think both Professors deliberately called for this interview to more publicly dump the blame on President Kufuor. That rather exacerbates the feud, and does not help resolve it.
The most insulting and annoying fact about the behavior of the two Professors and their cohorts in this issue is that they fail to acknowledge any inadequacies or faux-pas by the NPP Flagbearer, Akufo-Addo, that could have perpetuated this sad phase in the NPP's history.
The truth is that Akufo-Addo has not shown any significant leadership in reconciling the feuding factions. And much of his own behavior has fueled the crisis over the months.
If the supporters of the Akufo-Addo refuse to look within their midst to identify their own shortcomings and concede their own errors with humility, but continue to arrogantly claim sainthood and blame everyone else on the other side of the NPP, there can never be any Peace or genuine unity in the Party. Period!
Professor Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr., for one is on record to have even insulted the former President Kufuor, with unmentionable perverse, lewd language, citing the marriage of the former President. It is absolutely insane for the Professors to claim the moral high ground and simultaneously unleash such putrid disrespect for President Kufuor and his close associates that the Professors seek support from to propel their (the Profs.') favorite Political candidate to win in the impending elections.
We are yet to hear any of the Akufo-Addo minions apologize to the former President for linking him to the murder of the Upper East Regional NPP Chairman. How dare these mad Professors even remotely consider any capitulation of the angry supporters of President Kufuor to let Akufo-Addo have a breezy sail to the Presidency, even as the same Professors repeat their gross insolence against the former President?!
Akufo-Addo has many opportunities to lead a proactive effort to reconcile the two factions but failed to seize them. He, at best, would take a step towards Peace, and two backwards into chaos. The Flagbearer has shown nothing more than phony attempts at recognizing Afoko and Agyapong at their posts and trying to reconcile his faction with theirs.
