The rise in intra party foot soldier accsations against district and or regional party leaders each election cycle is nothing but warnings to us all on things to come but for which a society in which corruption and corrupting practices have been normalized will not heed or learn. These party leaders have become power brokers; they sell the once in a lifetine opportunity to be rich to aspirants hoping to feed off at the national trough but not legislate for the love of country.
The cry out of foot soldiers are mostly ignored unless they resort to force and acts of hooliganism to get us to take them serious. Why do aspirants, rich or poor, educated and undereducated fight to the death just to get the chance to become a party executive or party parliamentarian? There are no jobs in Ghana that provide the opportunity to get filthy rich in a short time and or wield influence in society but that of politics. Nana Akufo-Addo will not spend his lifetime fighting to be on the ultimate throne. Kufour, Atta-Mills, Mahama would not have fought for it and Rawlings and his family could not have enjoyed the fame and notoriety off his Airforce salary. We continue to remain blind as we ignore the cries of foot soldiers and wonder why we continue to have problems nationally after 40+ years of getting rid of our presumed hated leader Kwame Nkrumah and his CPP.
