It is a stark reality that very little is done in curbing corruption in the country.Widespread corruption with impunity is simply because government is clearly lackadaisical in dealing with the canker.Unfortunately high profile civil servants and top government functionaries put in position of responsibility are directly involved in most corruption cases.It is a fact that government often assume a posture of feverishly trying to protect top men with links to government.Corruption as a matter of fact mostly involve top men in public institutions.Corruption has become endemic and pervasive because laws are selective and discriminative in favour of the affluent and influential with links to the corridors of powers who are virtually immune despite all the criminality and malpractices they supervise as institutional heads.Aside the ones exposed and reported by the media,there are still many cases of drenching corruption involving top men in public institutions tentatively covered by the AG Department at the behest of government to escape judgement debt and embarrassment to government.What i don't understand is why the government will keep people in key positions in public institutions when it is clear they are corrupt,irresponsible and incompetent.Even letters to the Presidency at the Flagstaff House in an attempt to expose these white collar criminals felt on deaf ears.Victims of dismissals in public institutions because of a patriotic duty of exposing corruption have had their cases suppressed in the high courts to cover top civil servants and government functionaries involved in some heinous corruption and scandalous activities.From where i stand it appears corruption have become an accepted norm.The system quickly find a way of implicating and victimizing people opposed to it simply because people in position of responsibility supposed to deal with the canker are neck deep involved.When some doctors in Effia Nkwanta hospital opposed senseless corruption needlessly killing patients in that hospital they were rapidly and falsely implicated with a mental illness and dismissed through an indefinite suspension.The first action the incumbent Director General Dr.Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira took was to dismiss these doctors in less than a month of assuming post to cover massive corruption in that hospital.When these doctors wrote to the then Health Minister Alban Bagbin and the Presidency at Flagstaff House detailing corruption,nepotism,cronyism and political persecution in that hospital it felt on deaf ears.Corrupt and dubious activities such as illicit procurement,malpractices in insurance claims,diversion of funds and logistics in that hospital were cited in those letters.The PAC hearing involving Ghana Health Service headquarters clearly exposed similar acts which was incredibly brushed off as mistakes or oversight.The same AG Department that indicted the GHS hierarchy of 8 million Ghana Cedis financial malfeasance march last year is the same AG protecting the GHS in court against these doctors who were victimized because they spoke against corruption.Suffice to say the Mahama Government with knowledge of the source of corruption and rampant judgement debt embarrassing it in the process is simply turning a blind eye.The government is reluctant in exposing and punishing culprits for fear of judgement debt and for fear of embarrassing itself.Once white collar criminals feel safe and covered on grounds of nepotism and cronyism,one will expect pervasive corruption with impunity in the midst of loud silence in public institutions and government organizations.When it comes to infrastructural development the Mahama Government is doing well but i doubt if there is the political will and commitment in dealing with the canker of corruption judging by the manner in which people are left off the hook.I doubt it when cases of corruption are tentatively covered by government agencies like the AG.I doubt it when the system is encouraged to victimize and persecute anti-corruption voices who are performing a patriotic duty in helping the government.

At least for the benefit of doubt, Elvis has stated why, in his opinion he thinks this government is fighting corruption head on.

He cited reasons like, We not living in a jungle, therefore claims of corruption must in my opinion be an issue for the courts to deal with, and frankly speaking, this is exactly what this government is doing.

I believe the best we can do to further a better discussion of this matter, is to also provide proves of the fact why we think government has failed in the fight against corruption.

Elvis in fact again made reference the recent report by Transparency, which placed the nation second on the log of top two nations fight corruption.

Reported issues of corruption like the GYEEDA scandal has even gotten to the point where Abuga Pele, a kingpin of the ruling party is in court for his involvement in allege malfeasance.

On top of this, Woyome has been in and out of court, just because the government wanted the right thing to be done. But since the court has freed this man, I do not think, government in anyway be cited for any wrong doing here.

I can as well further several reasons to buttress my grounds why I think the government has come far in the fight against corruption.

Anyone, in opinion who thinks otherwise, must have accessed very much incriminating evidences to pin these persons cited for corruption that are working around freely.

That insults from day one, and even mere perception, has not helped this nation in its forward movement.

Therefore, the dye is cast, anyone who has the evidence should try the law court to supposedly fasttrack the move to safe, the otherwise thought sinking nation of ours.

Until then, and per the evidences i have furthered, I think the government is 90 percent in its fight against corruption.
